Rules and Notices

To ensure that as many people can enjoy their visit as possible, please read through the following rules and notices prior to joining the event.

Regarding Joining and Attending

Joining

  • Please see the How to Join page for instructions on how to register.
  • We will contact you via Connpass messages regarding instructions on how to enter the venue.
    Please check its contents once it arrives.
  • We are unable to allow you in if you cannot present your Connpass reservation email at the time of entry.
    • If you are travelling from overseas and will not have mobile data or similar, please prepare a screenshot or printed copy of this email ahead of time.
    • Entry or attempting to enter without a reservation is prohibited.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel as early as possible.
  • If you are bringing children, please keep an eye on them at all times.
  • The entry card provided during entry to the venue is necessary for leaving or re-entering the venue.
    Without it, you cannot leave the venue - please keep it with you and do not lose it.

Possessions

  • Bringing a keyboard is optional - feel free to join without bringing your own.
  • We will not be responsible for damages to, loss of, or theft of personal possessions, including and not limited to valuables and displayed keyboards. Please manage such items under your own responsibility.
  • Due to venue regulations, use of carts/trolleys is prohibited. Suitcases and other baggage is permitted.

Nametags and Privacy

  • All participants will be provided a nametag when entering the venue.
  • Please wear this provided nametag around your neck at all times during the event. Anyone found without a nametag will be subject to dismissal.
  • The name and icon printed on the nametag will be that of your Connpass account.
    Since we will prepare the nametags ahead of time, please make any changes to this information as early as possible.
  • We allow photography and video filming of the event, as well as uploading to blogs, social media, and similar.
    Please note that due to this, images or footage of attendees may end up shared to the general public.

Venue and Event Operations

  • Eating and drinking is prohibited within the venue aside from select areas.
    Please keep beverages to such areas.
  • There are no smoking rooms or smoking spaces within the venue.
    If necessary, please use the smoking area on the 4th floor of the venue building or one outside of the venue building.
  • The event may be cancelled due to unforeseen or inevitable circumstances.
    In such a scenario, we will contact attendees via Connpass messages.
  • The event details are subject to change without prior notice.

Regarding Displayed Keyboards

Displaying

  • Feel free to join the event without displaying a keyboard - it is completely optional.
  • Keyboards brought in can be displayed in the general displaying and chatting areas at will.
  • When displaying your keyboard, you can leave a card beside it explaining its specifications such as the switches and keycaps being used. There is no strict format to such card - you can either prepare one ahead of time, or you can hand-write a card during the event.

Display Contents

Scope and Placement

  • To guarantee enough space for all participants, please place your keyboards close together to others to minimize wasted space.
  • You are free to bring in and display laptops/tablet PCs, wristrests, deskmats, and similar keyboard-related items.
  • If the quantity or scale of your display/displayed items are too large, it may impact the available space for other attendees.
    Please note that we may ask you to move your displayed items close together, reduce the size/scope of your display, or move your display altogether.

Power and Equipment

  • It is permitted to use power banks for powering a keyboard for LED functionality and similar.
    However, please refrain from using the wall outlets of the venue.
  • If you wish for attendees to be able to run actual typing tests on your keyboard, please provide your own computer.
    We will not lease out laptops or tablets from our side for your display.

Management of Displayed Units

  • Due to possible chemical effects on the display units, the use of disinfecting substances and/or the act of disinfecting keyboards without permission from the owner is prohibited.
  • There will be disinfecting alcohol and wipes provided at the venue; please disinfect your own hands and fingers rather than the displayed units.
  • One of our goals at Tenkey Tokyo is to allow as many people to try out various keyboards as possible - thus our expectation is that all keyboards will be touched and typed on.
    Due to this, there are no “do not touch” display areas within the venue.
    We will not provide any support or liability if you do not want your displayed items to be touched or typed on, so please display such items entirely at your own risk.

Regarding the Anti-Harassment Policy

At Tenkey Tokyo, all participants are subject to an Anti-Harassment Policy for the safety of the event and its attendees.

This Policy has been established to maintain an enjoyable and safe atmosphere both for current and future attendees to attend without worry or risk - thus this Policy applies not only to actions and speech within the venue, but also for communications following the event as well as posts and communications on social media, blogs, and similar.

Denial and Exemption of Warranty

The Event Organizers make no guarantee of whether or not this Event meets the goals and/or objectives of the Participant.
Furthermore, the Event Organizers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, accidental, or punitive damages, expenses, losses, or liabilities arising from attending and/or participating at the Event.

Limitation of Recompensation

Response Upon Damages to the Venue Facilities

Upon any damages or defacement to the venue facilities (including but not limited to desks, chairs, facility equipment, and any other fixtures) by a Participant, the Participant shall be held liable for the full amount of restoration and repair costs as well as any associated fess such as but not limited to handling fees and delinquent charges.

Handling of Event Cancellations

Criteria for Cancellation
The Event Organizers may cancel or shorten the Event if the Event become difficult to hold due to disasters such as but not limited to earthquakes, typhoons, floods, large-scale transit infrastructure disruptions, epidemics, terrorism, war, civil unrest, orders for cancellation from government agencies, public institutions, or venue providers, or any other force majeure.

Examples of the criteria of disasters leading to cancellation are as follows:

  • If the train lines nearest the venue face closure and reaching the venue becomes difficult
  • If any environmental warnings such as but not limited to the ones below are issued by the Meteorological Agency for areas including the venue location
    • Heavy wind warning
    • Heavy snow warning
    • Blizzard warning
    • Special/Emergency warnings (heavy rain, heavy wind, storm, high tide, high waves, blizzard, heavy snow)
    • Ashfall warning
  • If the government issues an restraint order due to epidemics, large-scale disasters, or similar
  • If the venue owners request or recommend cancellation

Contact Method in the Case of Cancellation
If the Event Organizers form the decision to cancel the Event, they shall promptly notify the Participants via e-mail, notices to the application website (Connpass), and any other available means.

Refunds in the Case of Cancellation
If the Event Organizers form the decision to cancel the Event, under no circumstances shall refunds shall be issued.
The attendance fees shall be used to cover the costs of cancellation of the Event.
The Event Organizers shall not be liable for and will not offer refunds for damages and expenses arising from the event or its cancellation.

Other Liabilities

The Event Organizers shall not be held liable for any matters not covered above.
